To provide a structured after-school and summer program that provides educational, physical and spiritual benefits to at-risk children in east Waxahachie in a safe, Christian environment.
Christie, a graduate of UTMB, is a licensed physical therapist, working PRN in HomeHealth and outpatient rehab. She has been a volunteer with Common Ground Ministries since it’s origin and has served on the board since 2009’. Some of her other volunteer work includes Waxahachie Junior Service League (areas of service being Meals on Wheels and Sims Library), D.E.A.R. reader, and Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief Team. Christie has been a member of First Baptist Church of Waxahachie since 1983, presently serving in the children’s department, as well as a prior 15 years in the youth department, Missions ministry team, and SOS. She and her Husband have also worked short-term mission work in Mexico and Central America with her husband’s employer, The Beck Group.
Jeff is an army veteran who moved here from California in 2009. After volunteering for a short time, he was asked to become a part of the CGM board. He attended Christ for the Nations Institute where he earned a bachelor’s degree in children and family ministries and is a member of Trinity Cedar Hill where he serves in the children’s department. His desire is to see children experience and know God.
